Hello and welcome to my page! I am a recent college graduate and have lived in DC since August 2012. I volunteered for the 5 months at an all boys' middle school as an independent reading teacher. Before moving to DC, I was a Writing Assistant during my last two years of college. Although my specialty was English, I assisted students with papers for classes in virtually every department. During my breaks from college, I tutored English, history and study skills to students at my high school. In high school, I tutored early elementary students (K-3) in reading. I have been told that I am highly motivated, organized, efficient, have a strong work ethic, communicate well, and bring positive energy to the work place. My tutoring approaches are breaking down difficult assignments into more manageable pieces, reading papers out loud, explaining suggestions for improvement throughout the process of reading the paper, and demonstrating how to use writing handbooks and other resources that will aid students in their work. I am proud grammar nerd and am very passionate about writing. I look forward to helping you with your papers and assignments for English classes!
